Wayne County Auditor, Jarra Underwood, is reminding all dog owners that 2018 dog licenses will go on sale Friday December 1st. Licenses will be on sale through Wednesday January 31st, after that a penalty will be applied. A dog license may be purchased several ways. At the Auditor’s Office, 428 West Liberty Street, Wooster, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm; online at: www.waynecountydoglicense.com, this option if for renewals only, not new dogs; or at various satellite agencies throughout the county. Visit the website for a complete list of satellite locations. Per Ohio Law, if a dog license is not purchased by the statutory deadline, a penalty is applied equal to the amount of the license. Be a responsible pet owner by not only purchasing a tag, but also making sure your dog wears it at all times. It is their ticket home if they become lost.

“GOVERNMENT IS A TRUST, AND THE OFFICERS OF THE GOVERMENT ARE TRUSTEES; AND BOTH THE TRUST AND THE TRUSTEE ARE CREATED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PEOPLE.” Henry Clay, speech at Lexington May 16, 1829
